All-Euroleague team, MVP announced in Prague

The top Euroleague Basketball players of the 2005-06
season were honored at a gala dinner attended by a world basketball
elite of almost 1,200 people in Prague on Saturday night. The All-Euroleague
team was formed by CSKA's point guard Theo Papaloukas,
Winterthur FCB shooting guard Juan Carlos Navarro,
Maccabi Elite's swingman Anthony Parker, Tau Ceramica's
power forward Luis Scola and Maccabi Elite big man
Nikola Vujcic. The results, after a voting by an experts
panel, decided that Maccabi's Parker was also the undisputed MVP
for the Euroleague 2005-06 season.

The All-Euroleague
Second Team features point guard Pablo Prigioni of
Tau Ceramica and shooting guard Vassilis Spanoulis
of Panathinaikos, small forward Trajan Langdon of CSKA
Moscow, power forward Jorge Garbajosa of Unicaja and
center Darjus Lavrinovic of Zalgiris. The awards dinner
also recognized Dimitris Diamantidis of Panathinaikos
as the Best Defender Trophy winner, Benetton's Drew Nicholas
as the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy winner and Andrea Bargnani
also of Benetton as the Rising Star Trophy winner. All awards were based
on media voting except the top scorer, based on best average points
during the season.
