The second edition of the Euroleague Basketball International Junior Tournament
has a new champion!! CSKA Moscow defeated easily Montepaschi Siena of Italy
by 62-90 on Saturday in the final game. A 8-28 run in the first quarter was
enough for CSKA to play calm during the rest of the game. The score was already
28-44 at halftime and CSKA rolled for good. Vassili Zavourev blasted Siena with
30 points, including 6 of 12 triples, Nikita Kourbanov added 17 and Nikita Shabalkin,
15. For Montepaschi, Tommaso Marino led the way with 14 points. The second edition
of the tournament has been a big success again, and a third edition is already
scheduled for 2005 in Moscow, again on occasion of the Euroleague Final Four
at the end of next season. See you all in Moscow!
