Nike IJT Belgrade Game Report: Partizan Igokea 77-62 Union Olimpija
In an all Adriatic League battle Partizan Igokea came out worthy winners over Union Olimpija Ljubljana 77-62. With the win Partizan move on to face Montepaschi in the 5th Place game tomorrow whilst Union Olimpija will play Khimki for 7th. For the hometown Serbs Nemanja Jaramay was the go to guy, finishing with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The Slovenians had Dino Muric as their best man with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Partizan Igokea and Union Olimpija started the game both with a point to prove, having missed the semifinals after a defeat by a very slim margin. It was the team from Belgrade who started brighter, having great patience offensively and controlling the boards for a 23-18 lead after 10 minutes. Partizan came out roaring in the next stanza as led by a solid Vlahovic they outscored their opponents by ten, to lead 45-30 at the half. Union Olimpija tried to change their defence, but this could not stop an organised Partizan from exploiting the gaps. Sirnik and Muric kept the Slovenians in the game with long distance bombs. The third quarter saw a resilient Partizan keep up the pace and continue pressuring Union Olimpija. A five point differential saw Jaramay catch up with his teammate to have 20 points at the end of three as the score read 67-47 in Partizan's favour. The final 10 minutes were a mere formality as both sides exchanged baskets before reaching the end, with Partizan fifteen point victors, 77-62. Both sides will look to finish the tournament with a win when they play their last game on Sunday.
