Herve Toure pens three-year deal with Lottomatica
Herve ToureLottomatica Roma signed athletic forward Herve Toure to a three-year deal, the club announced Friday. Toure (203, 27) arrives from NGC Cantu, where he has spent the past two seasons, but also brings with him significant Euroleague experience. He averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds in 30 games for Cantu in the Italian League last season. He recorded a career-high 24 points and added 9 rebounds to lead Cantu to a 75-73 win in a May 2008 Italian League playoff game. Toure previously played for Asvel Basket in his native France, Spirou Charleroi in Belgium and Air Avellino, Capo d'Orlando and Armani Jeans Milano in Italy.

"My goal is to show my value and to help the team in both in the Euroleague and the Italian championship," Toure said. "I am very pleased to have reached this agreement with Roma and to be able to return to the Euroleague. It is an important step forward in my career … Rome is a beautiful city and the capital. It will be great to live here. I will do everything to help this team."

"Toure is a great player from a technical viewpoint, who can create for his peers and has a good shot from the three," Roma head coach Nando Gentile said. "He is also an excellent defender and very motivated to play again in the Euroleague."
