MONTEPASCHI extends sharpshooter Carraretto
Marco Carraretto - MontepaschiMontepaschi Siena reached a new agreement with combo guard Marco Carraretto to stay together until the end of the 2012-13 season, the club announced Wednesday. Carraretto (196, 32), a fan favourite due to his hustle and fighting spirit, was already under contract and set to start his fifth season with Montepaschi. He has helped Montepaschi to win four consecutive Italian League titles from 2007 to 2010. Carraretto has also lifted two Italian Cup and three Italian SuperCup trophies with Siena since he joined the team, as well as making it to the Euroleague Final Four in 2008. Carraretto averaged 1.8 points in 16 Euroleague games last season. He has also played for Breogan and Baskonia in Spain, as well as for Biella, Verona, Udine, Mestre and Benetton Treviso in his native Italy. Carraretto is also a member of the Italian national team and played at the EuroBasket 2011 preliminary round this summer.
