 Defending champion Montepaschi held on for a 77-79 victory at Benetton Treviso to remain atop the Italian League with a 10-1 record. In a close game that went to the wire, guards Bo McCalebb and Rimantas Kaukenas scored clutch baskets in the last two minutes each time Benetton cut the gap to 2 points, allowing the visitors to escape with the win. McCalebb and Kaukenas led a well-balanced team effort with 13 points apiece, while Ksistof Lavrinovic added 12 and Marco Carraretto 11. Greg Brunner paced Benetton with 21 points and 9 rebounds and Hrvoje Peric added 13. Lottomatica Roma scored a 92-80 victory over Dinamo Sassari as Charles Smith led six Roman scorers in double figures with 24 points. Ali Traore added 16 and 7 boards for the winners. Bennet Cantù edged Angelico Biella 74-75 behind 21 points and 10 rebounds from Ben Ortner. Air Avellino bested Pepsi Caserta 79-68 as Chevon Troutman shined with 20 points and 13 boards. Fabio DiBella led Caserta with 25 in defeat. Early in the week, Canadian Solar Bologna outlasted Vanoli-Braga Cremona 116-100 after three overtimes as Petteri Koponen scored 38 and Kennedy Wnston and Jared Homan combined for 46 points and 29 rebounds. Other Week 11 winners included Fabi Shoes Montegranaro and Banca Tercas Teramo.
