FC BARCELONA REGAL invests in Eriksson

 One of the most promising shooting guards in Europe joined a Turkish Airlines Euroleague powerhouse when FC Barcelona Regal announced the signing of Marcus Eriksson to a four-year deal on Wednesday. Barcelona keeps an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2016-17 season. Eriksson (1.96 meters, 17 years old) arrives from Assignia Manresa, where he made his Spanish League debut this season at age 16 - the sixth youngest player to do so. He started his career with KFUM Uppsala in his native Sweden before joining Manresa. Eriksson was chosen as the 2010 Torneig de Basquet Junior Ciutat de L’Hospitalet's MVP after averaging 18.4 points on 48.6% three-point shooting and 5.2 rebounds in five games to lead Manresa to the semifinals. His best game - 25 points and 8 rebounds - came in a losing effort against Barcelona in the semifinals. Eriksson has also been a member of the Swedish under-16 and under-18 national teams.
