Sport today is being increasingly recognized for the contribution it can make to community development. Internationally, the impetus for the recognition of sport has come particularly from the role that sport has played in addressing the Millennium Development Goals and, in particular, the response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. More development programs utilizing the power of sport have emerged in communities worldwide focusing on development objectives. The use of sport as a tool for development has consolidated the field of sport-for-development.
And at the same time the world of sport, marketing and sponsorship is changing. No longer is it enough for brands to engage for awareness: the core issues now for brands and commercial partners are how are they engaging and why are they engaging.
So… Social Responsibility is now an established criterion for corporates to weigh their activity.
At Euroleague we have always wanted to innovate and lead. We have therefore, invested ourselves in developing the impact our clubs have off court by connecting sport and social responsibility into a powerful combination: the creation of a European wide CSR program delivered by us and our clubs to our untapped audience of over a million participants in community and social change programmes. The One Team Program.
