Greek League playoffs, semifinals Game 3: April 28, 2012

 In its last official game before the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, Olympiacos Piraeus blasted Panionios 66-87 on the road Saturday to sweep their best-of-five semifinal and make it to the Greek League finals for a seventh straight season. On the other hand, defending champion Panathinaikos must play again after Kolossos VAP won Game 3 in Rhodes by 73-68. Game 4 between them is on Monday.
In Nea Smirni, Olympiacos dominated from the beginning of the game, got a 32-45 lead by the halftime and registered a comfortable victory, which allows the Reds to begin early preparations for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. Giorgos Printezis paced his team with 17 points, Vassilis Spanoulis netted 16 points, including 4 of 6 three-point shots, and dished 10 assists. Kostas Papanikolaou added 16 points and Kyle Hines 15 points and 5 rebounds. For host Panionios, Billy Keys scored 18 points and Giannis Athanassoulas had 11.
In Rhodes, Kolossos downed Panathinaikos to end a streak of 14 consecutive losses suffered at the hands of the Greens. It marked the first time that the defending Turkish Airlines Euroleague champions lost in any Greek League quarterfinal or semifinal game after 35 straight victories since 2005. The hosts of Kolossos were in front 39-34 at halftime, after which the Greens pulled ahead 62-66. But Kolossos used a 10-0 charge, including a crucial three-pointer by Marcus Hatten, for a 72-66 lead. Ian Vougioukas led Panathinaikos with 12 points, while Sarunas Jasikevicius and David Logan added 11 points apiece. Panathimaiakos played without All-Euroleague center Mike Batiste, who was injured. Nikos Liakopoulos paved the way fort Kolossos with 17 points, while former Panathinaikos point guard Giorgos Kalaitzis tallied 13, Antonis Assimakopoulos and Hatten 10 apiece.
