PHASE PAGES, Quarterfinal Playoffs 2006-07
The Quarterfinal Playoffs matchups provided all the drama expected and more, even though only half the series went the full three games. Tau Ceramica and Panathinaikos won big at home and held on in Game 2s on the road to become the first teams to book their spots in Athens, eliminating Olympiacos and Dynamo, respectively. The series between the past two champs, CSKA Moscow and Maccabi Elite, resulted in three one-sided victories for the home teams, as CSKA advanced in three games after a strong showing from Theo Papaloukas. The most drama was seen in Spain, where Unicaja bested domestic rival Barcelona on a Pepe Sanchez triple in the last seconds of Game 3.
QUARTERFINAL PLAYOFFS GAME 1
The four home teams won by an average margin of 21 points. CSKA Moscow led 22-6 after one quarter in beating Maccabi Tel Aviv 80-58. Panathinaikos downed Dynamo Moscow with the same score line, which was just one point from the record for fewest points allowed in a playoff game. Tau beat Olympiacos 84-59, while Unicaja grabbed its first-ever playoff win.

Panathinaikos and Tau Ceramica booked their spots in the Final Four after sweeping their best-of-three Quarterfinal Playoffs series. Maccabi Tel Aviv stopped CSKA Moscow 68-56 to tie their series at 1-1 and snap CSKA's string of 18 straight Euroleague victories. The 56 points were also the fewest allowed in a playoffs game, topping CSKA's previous mark of 57 against Efes Pilsen last season. Barcelona stayed alive by beating Unicaja.
