The 2007-08 regular season created special memories across the continent every week with both tantalizing basketball and the tip-off of the 50 Years of European Club Basketball Competitions celebrations. Euroleague debutant Chorale Roanne won its opener and would produce the competition’s best scorer, Marc Salyers. Partizan burst out of the gate by winning its first two games behind the stellar play of the season’s brightest surprise, Nikola Pekovic. The last two champs and last season’s finalists, Panathinaikos and CSKA Moscow, proved their dominance with the best records of the regular season. Lietuvos Rytas showed it belongs with the best by winning the other group. Over the course of the regular season, a number of records and milestones were broken or set – including all-time rebounding king Mirsad Turkcan grabbing the 1,000th rebound of his Euroleague career.
