TOP 16, 2011-12
The 2011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 brings the cream of the crop together to battle for eight tickets to the playoffs. Among the 16 teams are three newcomers – Gescrap BB, GS Medical Park and Unics Kazan; four Spanish clubs, including real Madrid, Unicaja and Gescrap all paired together in Group F; and three teams from Istanbul, the site of the 2012 Final Four, including rivals Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray, which will duel in Group E. As expected, all the 2011 Final Four teams – champion Panathinaikos, runner-up Maccabi Electra, Real Madrid and Montepaschi Siena – are accounted for as well as the teams with the best records in the regular season, undefeated CSKA Moscow and nine-win FC Barcelona Regal and will all lead the charge towards the playoffs.

Two-thirds of the way through the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16, there is an amazing fact: All 16 teams are still alive and kicking! No team has clinched a playoffs spot yet either, though Montepaschi Siena of Group F and FC Barcelona Regal of Group H are eerily close with 4-0 records. Two weeks will pass before the Week 5 games arrive, in which seven of the eight playoffs tickets could be issued.
