TOP 16, ROUND 1
The 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague returned for the start of the Top 16 and delivered instantly. There were surprises in Group F, where all four road teams won! The two undefeated teams from the regular season, Olympiacos Piraeus and Real Madrid, both extended their impressive runs. Round 1 featured comeback, an overtime thriller and plenty of brilliant individual performances. And there are still 13 more weeks of Top 16 drama to come!
TOP 16, ROUND 2
There is much to remember from the eight great games of Top 16 Round 2. A statement victory by one team on the floor that will host this season's Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Milan knocked off one of the competition's unbeaten teams. The other unbeaten side suffered its narrowest margin before winning. There was an amazing return from injury to lead another team in Tel Aviv. Two games in Istanbul were both decided by one basket in favor of the visitors. In all, six teams remain undefeated after two Top 16 games.
TOP 16, ROUND 3
After a three-day week of action, four teams remained undefeated, and as many teams are still winless in the Top 16. Real Madrid extended its unbeaten start to the season in a rare Wednesday game before the three visiting teams went home victorious Thursday, including a Game of the Week thriller decided at the buzzer. There was no such luck for the road teams on Friday, as the hosts won all four games, including a thriller in Belgrade's Kombank Arena.
TOP 16, ROUND 4
If you like basketball, you loved Round 4 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16! Five games were decided late – including one of the greatest game-winning shots of all time – the Bosphorus buzzer-beater! Two players reached incredible milestones – 1,000 career rebounds! Another set a club record. And the list goes on and on… In the end, two teams remained unbeaten in this phase, but both face stern tests in Top 16 Round 5. The action never stops!
TOP 16, ROUND 5
Great games everywhere highlighted a fantastic round of action, which featured four road winners. Six of the eight games were decided by single digits and the final results left just one unbeaten team. The drama led to a three-way tie for first place in Group F! All 16 teams get a chance to take a deep breath with an off week coming – though many will be busy competing in domestic cups. The action resumes in a fortnight with the next round of action on the road to Milan!
TOP 16, ROUND 6
After a one-week break, Turkish Airlines Euroleague action resumed with Top 16 Round 6. Group F provided the drama as the three co-winners held on for tough wins decided in the final minute, while at the bottom the group's standings, the week's MVP shined to lead the lone previously winless team to victory. In Group E, the performances were a bit more dominant with two teams doing some work on the record books.
TOP 16, ROUND 7
The 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 reached its halfway mark with another round of dramatic action. Two title contenders flashed their credentials with a pair of dominant performances. Two heated rivalries came down to the closing minutes. One team came from 19 down to win and revive its playoff hopes. And another got a career performance from its All-Euroleague center to remain undefeated in the Top 16. What a week it was!
TOP 16, ROUND 8
The second half of the Top 16 began with a host of memorable games. Five of the games were decided by 6 points or less. One game went to overtime on a last-second tip-in. Another saw nine fourth-quarter lead changes. A third game also featured a fourth-quarter rally. Only two teams managed to claim victories on the road. The results left packed middles of the tables, which promise plenty of drama to come. Four teams are tied for third place in Group E, while one win separates three for fourth place in Group F. What a race to the playoffs it will be!
TOP 16, ROUND 9
The 2013-14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 is heating up for as much excitement as ever, with Round 9 looming as a pivotal week with teams keep fighting to get closer to the playoffs. In fact, the first playoffs spot was handed out Thursday when FC Barcelona improved to 9-0 with its 21st straight Top 16 victory. Four more contests are on tap Friday. Every round of games will be more intense and exciting than the previous one - don't miss it!
TOP 16, ROUND 10
Top 16 Round 10 began with five Thursday games and finished with several happy teams. The happiest among them was CSKA Moscow, which became the first team to clinch a playoff berth from Group F. The group's other winners also had plenty to smile about. In addition to two Top 16 Round 10 games decided by just 2 points, there was also an individual performance for the ages in a losing effort. Friday saw two more games come down to the last shot as Frgiskos Alvertis making his coaching debut a successful one. And the Euroleague saluted Juan Carlos Navarro as he became the competition's career leader in games and minutes played as Barcelona clinched home-court advantage in the playoffs.
TOP 16, ROUND 11
