Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv finished its two-game United States tour with a 108-96 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center on Tuesday. Despite the loss, it was a night to remember for two Maccabi players as Doron Perkins recorded a triple-double of 16 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals and Los Angeles native David Bluthenthal came back from injury to score 12 points in front of friends and family. Maccabi, which lost to the New York Knicks on Sunday, returns to Israel on Wednesday. The longer NBA game got the best of Maccabi once more, which led 40-42 late in the second quarter, before Los Angeles finished the half on a 13-0 run and never looked back. MORE

Knicks hold off Maccabi in New York
	Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv started its brief coast-to-coast tour of the United States with a 106-91 loss on Sunday against the New York Knicks at the famed Madison Square Garden. Maccabi next flies to California to play the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday in the second of its two-game US visit to benefit the Migdal Ohr orphanage in Israel.

NBA Europe Live press conference: David Stern, NBA Commisioner

To present the 2009 edition of NBA Europe Live, NBA Commisioner David Stern spoke to media in London on Tuesday prior to the Chicago Bulls vs. the Utah Jazz game. "This is part of our working with the Euroleague, to have a series of games and to work together to grow the sport," Stern said. "The Jazz move on to Madrid to play Real Madrid on Thursday. Actually, three Euroleague teams are playing or have played in the United States during exhibition season, because of our collaboration with the Euroleague: Partizan, Olympiacos, and Maccabi Tel Aviv."

Partizan party opens American Tour

When the Euroleague American Tour '09 opens with the Denver Nuggets vs. Partizan Belgrade, it will still be October 3 on the court in the United States, but due to the time difference, will already have become October 4 in Europe. That distinction is important because Partizan was founded on October 4, 1945, making Partizan's first official game in the United States or against any NBA team an ideal birthday gift.

By the end of last season, everyone in Belgrade and all world basketball experts knew about Jan Vesely, a tall teen talent from the Czech Republic who had blossomed into a starter in his first Euroleague season with Partizan. Now he's back in the Euroleague with the legendary Real Madrid, which hosts the Utah Jazz - from Hansen's home state - as part of NBA Europe Live.
