Stratos Perperoglou - PanathinaikosHi, to all of you!

First things first: All my best wishes for you and the ones you love and care about: Merry Christmas and a very happy 2009, with health and lots and lots of basketball and Euroleague games!

It's a wish we have for our team too. We want first of all to be healthy. It's something we missed the last month. We had too many players injured and it was something that cost us in the game against Barcelona and made it harder to be effective in practice. Before and during the game we had a total of seven players injured or sick. The seventh was Billy Spanoulis, who sprained his ankle during the game.

I was not very lucky myself since I was "double-teamed" by back pain and the flu. The former, especially, did a fine job on me, mostly because it hit me just before our Greek League game against Olympiacos - in fact, during the warm-ups! It was a game that I was looking forward to playing, but it was impossible to play and help my team, which did a fine job anyway! I felt disappointment, sadness… It was not a good time for me. It kept me off the floor in a game that all players want to play. I just hope that I will have the chance to play in the next games against Olympiacos this season. After that, I came down with a flu that was still bothering me a few days ago.

All these problems – both of mine personally and more so those of my teammates – made things...

Stratos Perperoglou - Panathinaikos AthensHi, to all you fans of basketball and of the Euroleague!

Although it's something completely new to me, something different, my response to Euroleague's request to become one of the bloggers of the competition could only be positive. I feel almost the same for the Euroleague itself, since it's just my second year at Panathinaikos and I have played in 13 games so far - from the first one against Bamberg in OAKA last season to the most recent one, our important victory against Siena last week, also in front of our great fans in OAKA.

I feel lucky that I am part of Panathinaikos and with the fact that I have teammates who belong to the elite of European basketball. And the same goes for the coaches, too. Every day working alongside them is like going to school. Every day I learn something new playing with them in the practices or during games. Most important, however, is that we are talking about amazing people. They are there to help you, they are not egoists. It's something that works out only in a positive way regarding our obligations in Greece and also in Euroleague. It's amazing that you have Jasikevicius, for example, next to you, with everything he has done in his career, to make jokes, to talk all the time, to make comments. And it's not only him; all the guys are like this.

With all this travelling we have during the year, it's essential to have a nice atmosphere among us...
