| The Belgian League returns as competitive as ever, with Spirou Charleroi ready to defend the title. Spirou was the first team in Europe to complete its roster for the 2008-09 season, featuring Jure Lalic, Andre Riddick, Dwayne Broyles, Len Matela, Mladen Sekularac or Justin Hamilton. Despite its deep roster, Spirou will not have it easy, as Base Oostende has also put together an outstanding team ready to become a title contender. Rashid Atkins, Jimmy Baxter, Mike Bauer, Matt Haryasz and Slobodan Ljubotina are Oostende's main additions for the upcoming 2008-09 season. Dexia Mons-Hainaut features Adam Hall, Travis Conlan, Caleb Green, Nate Reinking or Kelvin Tolbert, as coach Chris Finch will try to lead his team to battle for the title. Liege Basket moved well in the off-season market to land Will Thomas, Chris Hill and Jerald Fields. With the right chemistry, Liege could be a surprise team this season. Antwerp Diamond Giants, with Brandon Gay, Yves Dupont or Brian Lynch, and Voo Verviers-Pepinster, with Duane Erwin and Adrian Banks, could also fight for a semifinals spot. |
