One of the fastest rising domestic competitions in Europe is none other than the Ukrainian League, that is attracting more and more good players every season. Azovmash Mariupol has won five Ukrainian League titles in the last six seasons. It looks stronger than ever, as it brought back playmaker Khalid El-Amin, kept Tomas Delininkaitis, Panos Liadelis and Serhiy Lishchuk and added Marc Salyers, Uche Nsonwu or Dijon Thompson, among many others. As usual, its main contender will be none other than BC Kyiv, that finished second despite losing just four games in the entire 2007-08 Ukrainian League season. Kyiv also looks stronger than ever with Brent Wright, Scoonie Penn, Clay Tucker, Manu Markoishvili, Artur Drozdov, Kenan Bajramovic, Ryan Stack or Goran Jeretin. Donetsk is an emerging force with the arrival of Andres Rodriguez, P.J. Tucker and Chris Burguess. Khimik stays competitive with Jarrius Jackson, Wykeen Kelly, Sasa Bratic or Giorgos Diamantopoulos. Politekhnika Lvov, with Volodymyr Gurtovoy and Brad Rootes, may compete for a semifinal spot, as well as Cherkasy Monkeys, featuring Vladislav Dragojlovic and Bobby Dixon.
