Amsterdam dethroned defending champion EiffelTowers Den Bosch to win the best-of-seven series 4-3. Amsterdam reached its first title since 2005 and the sixth in the last 11 years by topping EiffelTowers 81-74 in Game 7 in the Dutch capital on Sunday. Teddy Gipson became the game hero by hitting back-to-back triples late in the fourth quarter to put Amsterdam ahead for good. He also led the winners with 27 points on 5-for-9 three-pointers and 4-for-4 free throws. Tamien Trent added 15, Avis Wyatt had 14 while Jeron Roberts got 12 for Amsterdam. Robert Owens and Darell Tucker led EiffelTowers each with 17 points. Kees Akerboom added 16 on 8-for-8 free throws while Travis Young got 10 for the guests, that had a 13-point lead in the second quarter and still kept a 64-65 edge with 6 minutes remaining. Runaway Dutch League leader MyGuide Amsterdam recorded its 20th win by topping the West Brabant Giants 77-69 in a midweek game. Amsterdam, which has only lost four times this season, got 16 points apiece from Petervan Paassen and Mohamed Abukar on the way to victory. Andre Harris led the Giants with 24 points and 10 rebounds. In other midweek games, the Hanzevast Capitals lost to Zorg & Zekerheid 73-79 on Tuesday and beat the Rotterdam Challengers 69-76 two days later. KS Nash led Zorg & Zekerheid with 23 points, while Alton Mason scored 18 in defeat. Against Rotterdam, Mason scored 17 and dished 6 assists, Dwayne Archbold added 15 and Kevin Melson and Raoul Heinen scored 11 each, while Sullivan Sykes paced the Challengers with 20 points.
