Maccabi welcomes Euroleague President and CEO Bertomeu
Shimon Mizrahi, Jordi Bertomeu in Tel AvivEuroleague Basketball President and CEO Jordi Bertomeu travelled to Tel Aviv, Israel, Thursday, where he was a guest of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv for the crucial Top 16 Group H game against Italy’s Bennet Cantu. Bertomeu enjoyed a courtside seat at Nokia Arena for the game. Before tipoff, Mr. Bertomeu was joined by Maccabi basketball president Shimon Mizrahi for a media conference at the arena, where he was asked by local journalists questions on an array of topics, including the changes in the Euroleague format starting next season, the possibility of the Final Four returning to Tel Aviv and the growth of European basketball.

“The concept is for the Euroleague to offer the best basketball to the world,” Mr. Bertomeu said. “I need to say thanks to the cooperation of the fans here and Maccabi, which is always cooperative not only in the games, but with much more. Maccabi is important for European basketball and has understood the philosophy of the league.“
