Sixth annual Euroleague Marketing Summit set for Thursday
summit2012_whiteBARCELONA - The annual Euroleague Basketball Marketing Summit descends on Barcelona for a sixth consecutive year on Thursday, July 5 as part of the ongoing Euroleague Basketball Institute Technical Week activities. A slate of industry leaders will be featured speakers at the day-long summit, which brings together leading industry professionals to debate innovative and creative ways to solve the marketing and commercial issues that the sporting industry faces and to create a think-tank atmosphere for improved marketing of basketball in Europe.

The Marketing Summit is an annual event organized by Euroleague Basketball targeting basketball marketing managers throughout Europe. With representatives from professional clubs, leagues and sponsors, it is an ideal forum for the sharing of ideas and concerns. The main topics in the industries are discussed through interactive sessions where top rate speakers and panelists present and discuss the best practices in the sports field, followed by table networking discussions in which all attendees participate.

Among the featured speakers are Dragan Kosanovic, Football Content and Legacy Manager at UEFA; soccer great Christian Karambeu, now a UEFA ambassador; Daniele Sano, bwin.party Head of Sponsorship, Events; Brian Kabatznick, VP of AEG Facilities; and Arno de Jong, Media and Marketing Director of Eredivisie.


2012 European Basketball Marketing Summit - Program


The Summit will start from 9:00 at Hotel Me Barcelona and will extend throughout the day. It consists of five sessions; each session is on a different topic and includes a presentation, a panel discussion and a table discussion.

Introduction by Rutger Hoorn (Ticketing Manager, Euroleague Basketball) followed by panel session: Eyal Bechor (CEO Ticket2Final), Brian Kabatznick (VP AEG Facilities) and Paul Newman (Head of Ticketing, the O2 Arena, London) and ending with a table discussion and workshop on key factors to increase ticket sales and attendance in clubs’ sports events
