Spanish League finals, Game 4: June 24, 2007
ULEB Cup champion Real Madrid is now the Spanish League champion, too, after dominating on the floor of archrival Winterthur F.C. Barcelona 71-82 on Sunday to take their best-of-five final series 3-1. Madrid dominated the backboards once again in Game 4 and followed the scoring of big man Felipe Reyes, who was chosen the finals MVP, to the title. Reyes hit 10 of 14 two-point shots and finished with 21 points. Kereme Tunceri buried 5 of 8 three-pointers for 15 points. Louis Bullock added 12 points for the winners, Raul Lopez and Charles Smith 10 each. Madrid's defense put the breaks on Barcelona scorer Juan Carlos Navarro, who had just 5 points. Jaka Lakovic led Barcelona with 15 points, 5 assists and 3 steals. Michalis Kakiouzis was the only other double-figure scorer for the hosts, with 11 points. The victory ended a remarkable season in which Madrid took the ULEB Cup and Spanish League while making the Spanish King's Cup final under rookie head coach Joan Plaza. It was Madrid's second domestic crown in three years and 30th overall.

2006-07 SPANISH LEAGUE PREVIEW
The Spanish League is back with a good number of elite teams challenge for a prestigious title. Current champions Unicaja made a lot of roster changed, but managed to put together a top team featuring Marcus Brown, Jiri Welsch, Carlos Jimenez, Pepe Sanchez, Erazem Lorbek or Iñaki De Miguel. A lot of teams will try to dethrone Unicaja, especially Winterthur FC Barcelona, Tau Ceramica and Real Madrid. Barcelona got stronger with the additions of Mario Kasun, Fran Vazquez, Jaka Lakovic and Roko-Leni Ukic while keeping franchise player Juan Carlos Navarro, as well as Gianluca Basile, Michalis Kakiouzis or Denis Marconato. Meanwhile, Tau Ceramica landed Zoran Planinic, Igor Rakocevic, Kaya Peker, Diego Fajardo, Fred House or Mirza Teletovic, who will help star forward Luis Scola and top returnees Pablo Prigioni, Tiago Splitter and Serkan Erdogan. Meanwhile, Real Madrid kept Louis Bullock and its entire frontcourt and added forward Alex Mumbru, scoring machine Charles Smith and pass-first playmakers Raul Lopez and Kerem Tunceri. DKV Joventut counts on a deep, talented roster with Rudy Fernandez, Charles Gaines, Elmer Bennett, Robert Archibald or Lubos Barton as its main scoring references. Pamesa Valencia hopes to get back to its glory days and moved well in the off-season market, landing Dejan Milojevic, Ruben Douglas, Haris Mujezinovic, Jon Stefansson, Albert Oliver or Roberto Chiacig. Akasvayu Girona hopes to carry on growing with head coach Svetislav Pesic and players like Bootsy Thornton, Marko Marinovic, Gregor Fucka or Dalibor Bagaric, while MMT Estudiantes inked Goran Nikolic, brought back Marlon Garnett, Gonzalo Martinez and Sergio Sanchez, as well as keeping Carlos Suarez and Pancho Jasen. Gran Canaria Grupo Dunas, with an outstanding frontline featuting Sitapha Savane, Jackson Vroman and Kornel David, Lagun Aro Bilbao Basket, with Martin Rancik, Fred Weis or Luke Recker, and Caja San Fernando featuring Hollis Price, Demetrius Alexander or Filip Videnov, will fight to make it to the top 8 and advance to the playoffs.
