French League, Game 24: March 10-11, 2007
Nancy and Roanne now tie atop the French League standings, each with a 17-7 record. Nancy is the new leader by overwhelming Reims 63-93 on the road on Saturday. Tariq Kirksay led the winners with 25 points, Dan McClintock added 15, DeRon Hayes had 14, Maxime Zianveni 13 and Branko Milisavljevic 11 in an easy home win for Nancy, that led 27-55 at halftime and never looked back. Le Mans rallied to beat Roanne 75-66 at home on Friday and improve to 14-10. Eric Campbell led the winners with 23 points, Kenny Gregory added 19 and Sandro Nicevic 12 for Le Mans, that trailed 51-55 after three quarters. Nicevic and Campbell got Le Mans back ahead, while Nebojsa Bogavac dunked it to seal the win in style. Pau-Orthez improved to 13-11 by thrashing Orleans 61-87 on the road. Michael Wright led the winners with 19 points, Britton Johnsen added 14, Aaron Miles had 13 and C.C. Harrison 12. Pau led 32-54 at halftime and did not have much travel to add an easy road win. Strasbourg improved to 15-9 by thrashing Chalon 94-63 at home behind 19 points from Sacha Giffa. Michael Smith added 16, Trey Moore and Claude Marquis each had 14 while Aerick Sanders scored 12 points in an easy home win for Strasbourg. In other games, Gravelines beat Cholet 72-65, Clermont topped Le Havre 85-77, Dijon edged Bourg 67-69 on a game-winning layup by Maleye Ndoye, Adecco Asvel bested Besancon 96-88 while Hyeres-Toulon edge Paris 91-90 in overtime on a buzzer-beating triple by T.J. Thompson.
