Czech League, Regular Season, Game 20: January 5-7, 2008
Defending champion CEZ Basket Nymburk pounded BK Sadska by 59 points over the weekend for its 17th consecutive victory in the Czech League. Moreover, with second placed Geofin Novy Jicín going down at USK Praha, Nymburk now has a three-win advantage atop the standings with a 19-1 record. Head coach Muli Katzurin’s side outscored its opponents 15-33 in the first period, increased the lead to 23-60 by halftime and never let up as every single player on the roster scored at least 6 points. Ladislav Sokolovsky led the charge with 16 points and 5 assists, Radek Necas added 15 points, Arthur Lee had 13 points and 7 assists, Blake Schlib and Pavel Benes scored 12 apiece and Petr Benda 11 for the winners. David Spicka scored 12 in defeat for Sadska, which dropped to 6-14. Meanwhile Praha edged Novy Jicin 91-89 behind Lucious Wagner’s 26 points. Wagner outdueled Robert Sarovic, who had 30 points and 8 rebounds in defeat. BK Prostejov joined Novy Jicin in second place after blasting BK Synthesia Pardubice 90-60 thanks to 21 points each from Aleksander Bosic and Rahsaan Ames. In other games, BK Kondori Liberec downed A PLUS OHL ZS Brno BC 85-75 as Pierre Wooten posted 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, BK Decin overcame BC Kolín 74-87 on the road and NH Ostrava topped BK Ustí nad Labem 82-89.
