Czech Cup Final: March 30, 2008
Monty Mack (photo: CEZ Basketball Nymburk) CEZ Basket Nymburk is the Czech Cup champion! The perennial Czech League winner defeated BK Prostejov 68-80 on Sunday in the final in Mlada Boleslav for its second straight and third ever Czech Cup title. Monte Mack scored 21 to pace Nymburk, which was in the unusual position of trailing at halftime, before turning up the heat on defense and limiting Prostejov to 21 second-half points. Arthur Lee added 19, Radoslav Rancik scored 17, Radek Necas 11 and Petr Benda 10 for the winners, who reached the final after topping NH Ostrava 93-75 in Saturday's semifinal. Rahsaan Ames paced Prostejov with 15. Prostejov defeated BK Synthesia Pardubice 82-90 in the semifinals. In the third place game, Pardubice bested Ostrava 78-69 as Kamaldin Gamma and Jiri Novotny scored 17 points apiece.
