Czech League regular season, Game 43: April 16, 2008
Petr Benda - CEZ Nymburk The playoff picture in the Czech League is starting to clear up after the top teams came away winners in the penultimate regular season round. The top five spots are all divvied out and all eight teams are known with only jockeying between the sixth, seventh and eighth spots mattering in the weekend’s remaining games. The big winner was as usual defending champion CEZ Basket Nymburk, which battered UKS Praha 52-94 en route to its 40th consecutive league win and a 42-1 record. Arthur Lee paced six Nymburk scorers in double figures with 18 points. Petr Benda added 16, Radoslav Rancik posted 12 points and 10 rebounds and Monte Mack, Blake Schilb and Ladislav Sokolovsky finished with 10 points apiece. Geofin Novy Jicín wrapped up second place after beating BC Kolin 99-72 as Marek Stec scored 18. BK Prostejov will finish third following a 99-73 win over BK Sadska. BK Decin is fourth and now knows its quarterfinals opponent after defeating NH Ostrava 94-86. Decin will take on fifth place BK Pardubice, which defeated A Plus OHL ZS Brno 66-78 on the road. Ostrava, Praha and Brno are al through to the playoffs as well. In the only game involving two non-playoffs teams, BK Kondori Liberec bested BK Ustí nad Labem 62-83.
