Julius Jenkins - Alba BerlinAlba Berlin climbed atop the German League standings and leads a group of 6 unbeaten teams after 2 games by thrashing the Giessen 46ers 92-54 at home on Wednesday. Dijon Thompson paced the winners with 22 points. Julius Jenkins added 18, Bobby Brown had 15 while Johannes Herber and Dragan Dojcin each got 11 in an easy win for Alba, that outscored its opponents by 26-5 in the fourth quarter. Brose Baskets also improved to 2-0 by downing Paderborn Baskets 60-83 on the road on Friday. Predrag Suput led Brose with 24 points, Darren Fenn added 19 and Ademola Okulaja 12 for the winners, who led 35-44 at halftime and never looked back. The Artland Dragons registered its first win by edging Koeln 99ers 68-69 on the road on Friday. Terrance Thomas led the winners with 21 points, Adam Chubb added 15 and Darius Hall 11 for the Dragons. Misan Nikagbatse had 18 points for the 99ers, Immanuel McElroy 14 and Aleksandar Nadjfeji 13. John Goldsberry became the game hero by hitting the game-winning layup with 1.4 seconds remaining. EnBW Ludwigsburg dropped to 1-1 due to a 89-88 overtime road loss against Ulm. Brandon Woudstra led EnBW with 20 points, Ronald Ross added 19 and Chad Prewitt 12. Bryan Lucas had 24 points for Ulm, including the game-winning basket. The Deutsche Bank Skyliners dropped to 1-1 due to a 76-65 road loss against EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Derrick Allen had 26 points for the Skyliners while Koko Archibong added 13. In other games, BG 74 Goettingen topped Bayer Giants Leverkusen 91-85, Tuebingen beat Bremenhaven 62-72, Telekom Baskets Bonn thrashed Jena 62-80 while Braunschweig bested TBB Trier 78-83.
