The Koln 99ers beat TBB Trier 73-88 as Immanuel McElroy led six Koln scorers in double figures with 14 points. Derick Allen scored 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds as Deutsche Bank Skyliners outlasted New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig 83-73 for their third win in a row. In other games, Alexander Seggelke scored 24 to lead Science City Jena to its first win of the season, 104-84 over BG 74 Gottingen, Bayer Giants Leverkusen came from behind in the fourth quarter to top ratiopharm Ulm 87-77, EWE Baskets Oldenburg stormed back from an early-double figure deficit to beat Giessen 46ers 88-85 and Winsome Frazier scored 17 to lead Telekom Baskets Bonn over Walter Tigers Tubingen 71-62.
Defending champion Brose Baskets Bamberg shined on the defensive end on the way to a 76-49 victory over EnBW Ludwigsburg. The hosts led 23-11 after 10 minutes and continued to grow the advantage. Bamberg didn't allow more than 15 points in any period and forced 18 turnovers. Chris Ensminger led the way with 14 points, Predrag Suput added 13, Tim Ohlbrecht 11 and Robert Garrett 10, while Steffen Hamann dished 6 assists. Ronald Ross led Ludwigsburg with 13 points. The Artland Dragons built a 23-37 halftime lead on the way to a 63-76 win at digibu Baskets. Jan Rohdewald led the Dragins with 17 points, Adam Chubb posted 12 points and 11 boards and John Goldsberry scored 12 points and dished 5 assists.
Julius Jenkins scored 10 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter – including the game-winner in the final seconds as Alba Berlin edged Eisbaren Bremerhaven 69-70. The hosts had the chance to put the game away down the stretch with the ball and a 1-point lead, but while trying to wind the clock down, Bobby Brown came up with a huge steal and set up Jenkins for the winning basket. Brown added 16 points and Patrick Femerling had 14 for Berlin. Nate Doornekamp led Bremerhaven with 13 in defeat. The Koln 99ers were convincing as they dumped TBB Trier on the road 73-88. The visitors dominated the boards 27-46 and made 84.6% of their 39 free throws, two keys to the big win. Immanuel McElroy led six Koln scorers in double figures with 14 points, Toby Bailey posted 13 points and 10 rebounds, Aleksandar Nadjfeji and Yassin Idbihi added 12 points each and Milko Bjelica and Misan Nikagbatse scored 11 apiece. Jerome Coleman led Trier with 18. Deutsche Bank Skyliners outlasted New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig 83-73. The Skyliners trailed 18-25 after 10 minutes, but tied the game at 39-39 at halftime and took control in the second half for their third straight win. Derick Allen led the way with 23 points and 8 rebounds, Stefano Garris added 17, Pascal Roller 12 and Ilian Evitmov and Jimmie Hunt posted 11 apiece. Andrew Drevo scored 23 in defeat.
