Nothing changed atop the Lithuanian League standings, as Lietuvos Rytas became the regular season champion at 17-0 with Zalgiris Kaunas mathematically second at 15-2. L. Rytas did not find much trouble to down Neptunas 100-78 on Thursday behind 22 points from Andrius Slezas. Martynas Gecevicius added 14 while Kenan Bajramovic had 13 for the winners, that led 48-42 at halftime. Gecevicius, Slezas and free throws by Mindaugas Lukauskis allowed L. Rytas to seal the outcome, 79-63, after three quarters. Meanwhile, Zalgiris thrashed Alytus 86-119 on the road also on Thursday. Paulius Jankunas paced the winners with 26 points on 9-for-10 two-pointers. Goran Jurak added 17, Jonas Maciulis had 15, Mamadou Ndiaye 12, Damir Markota 11 while Mantas Kalnietis and Arturas Milaknis each got 10 points for Zalgiris, that led 46-53 at halftime and had broken the game open, 62-91, after 30 minutes. Zalgiris added an 87-80 home win against Arvi - Suduva on Saturday. Kalnietis led the winners with 17 points, Jankunas and Marcus Brown each added 14, Ndiaye got 13 while Maciulis had 11 for Zalgiris. Suduva got within 78-77 with less than 2 minutes remaining but a triple by Maciulis and 4-for-4 free throws by Kalnietis helped Zalgiris to seal the outcome. Siauliai finished third with a 12-6 record by downing Techasas 82-75 at home on Tuesday. Antonio Grant led the way for Siauliai with 22 points, Donatas Zavackas added 15, Marius Prekevicius had 12, Virgilijus Praskevicius 11 and Gediminas Maceina 10. Siauliai trailed 70-75 with 5 minutes to go but capped the game with a 12-0 run to grab a big win. In other games, Alytus downed Sakalai 72-85.
