Adriatic League, Regular Season, Game 3: October 11, 2008
Four teams remain unbeaten in the Adriatic League, but one of them seems to be the team to beat: Partizan Belgrade. The defending champion survived a rematch of last year's final against Hemofarm STADA, winning by 73-74. Hemofarm led by as many as 14 after the first quarter and had a shot to win the game, but Nebosja Joksimovic couldn't deliver. Novica Velickovic scored 20 points for Partizan, while Stefan Markovic had 17 points and 5 steals for Hemofarm. Croatian champion KK Zadar crushed Bosnian champion KK Bosna 101-57. Todor Gecevski needed only 21 minutes to score 23 points for Zadar, and Julius Johnson added 22. Seid Hajric led Bosna with 14. Cibona picked up its first win by downing rival Zagreb CO in a heated derby thanks to a Vedran Vukusic layup. Rawle Marshall had an excellent offensive night with 29 points for Cibona, while Davor Kus and Marin Rozic added 14 points apiece. Ante Tomic posted 21 points to go with 9 rebounds for Zagreb, and Krunoslav Simon finished with 17. In the Slovenian derby, Krka downed Helios Domzale 56-75. Davor Marcelic hit 4 three-pointers on his way to 18 points for Krka, and Vjekoslav Petrovic nailed 3 from downtown to score 13 for Helios. In Podgorica, Buducnost was in control for most of the game and beat Split CO 85-68. Marko Simonovic came off the bench to lead a balanced Buducnost offence with 15 points, and Nemanja Gordic finished with 14. Sinisa Stemberger posted 23 points for the Croatian team and Antonio Grant scored 17. Red Star also stayed unbeaten by topping Union Olimpija 84-77. Andre Owens and Marko Marinovic combined for 8 threes and half of Red Star’s points. Veteran star Marko Milic came off the bench to match Miha Zupan's 18 points for Olimpija. Vlado Ilievski had 13 points and 9 assists. FMP needed overtime to get the first victory of the season against Vojvodina. Dragan Labovic led FMP with 29 points, while Miroslav Raduljica had a monster game inside with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 7 drawn fouls. Filip Covic scored 21 points and drew 7 fouls as well. Partizan managed to survive in a rematch of last year's final game by beating Hemofarm STADA 73-74. Hemofarm led by as many as 14 after the first quarter and was up 11 at the half, but Partizan turned a 46-35 deficit into a 48-55 lead in less than seven minutes. Hemofarm came back to even the score at 61 on Boban Marjanovic's free throws, but Partizan made another run to take the lead for good. Hemofarm never gave up and had a shot to win the game, but Nebosja Joksimovic couldn't deliver.
