Alba lifted its sixth German Cup trophy - its first since 2006 - by downing Telekom Baskets Bonn 44-69 in the title game in Hamburg, Germany on Sunday. Julius Jenkins paced the winners and earned final four MVP honors with 25 points on 4-for-5 three-pointers. Immanuel McElroy added 10 for Alba. Ken Johnson led Telekom with 13 points while E.J. Rowland added 10. Adam Chubb was the only Alba player to score in the opening 5 minutes. Meanwhile, Rowland and a three-pointer by Winsome Frazier gave Telekom an 8-4 edge. A put-back layup by McElroy and free throws by Jenkins tied it at 10-10 but Frazier restored a 12-10 Telekom edge after 10 minutes. Johannes Strasser buried a triple early in the second quarter but Dragan Dojcin and Chubb fueled a 0-7 run that put Alba ahead, 15-17. Jenkins stepped up with 7 unanswered points that gave Alba the lead for good, 17-24. An unstoppable Jenkins got some help from Rashad Wright to boost Alba's margin to 22-34 at halftime. Aleksandar Nadjfeji followed a layup with a three-pointer to break the game open, 25-39, after the intermission. Telekom kept struggling to score and only managed to trade baskets for a while. A three-pointer by McElroy allowed Alba to keep a double-digit lead, 35-45, after 30 minutes. Back-to-back triples by Jenkins sealed the outcome, 39-51, with under 7 minutes to go. Telekom did not recover and all Alba fans in the stands had plenty of time to celebrate that their team was once again the German Cup champion!

Julius Jenkins - Alba Berlin Alba and Telekom had survived their respective semifinal games against Deutsche Bank Skyliners and Giants Dusseldorf On Saturday. Telekom downed Dusseldorf 83-62 behind 22 points from Frazier. Brandon Bowman added 16, Moussa Diagne had 12 while Rowland got 11 for Telekom. Marc Antonio Carter had 14 points to lead Dusseldorf, that trailed 32-31 at halftime. Telekom rolled in the second half, boosting its margin to 61-44 after 30 minutes to cruise to a well-deserved win. Alba topped the Skyliners 81-69 with 15 points from Nadjfeji. Jenkins added 14 while McElroy had 12 for Alba. Derrick Allen had 21 points for the Skyliners, that led 44-45 late in the third quarter. Jenkins and Sekulic helped Alba to get a double-digit lead, 62-52, enough for their team to control the game from then on. In the third place game, the Skyliners rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to edge Dusseldorf 69-73 behind 15 points from Ilian Evtimov.
