British League, Regular Season, Game 19: February 6-8, 2009

The Everton Tigers keep leading the British Championship standings with a 13-3 record. The Newcastle Eagles are right behind at 13-4, with the Scottish Rocks third at 13-5. It was an outstanding weekend for the Tigers, that added back-to-back wins to keep leading the league table. Everton downed the Sheffield Sharks 80-69 at home on Friday behind 26 points from Josh Gross and then rounded a perfect weekend by topping the Guildford Heat 82-94. Andre Smith paced the winners with 26 points, Gross added 21 while Marcus Bailey had 20 for the Tigers. The Eagles beat the Marshall MK Lions 88-72 at home on Friday with 21 points from Trey Moore, but then registered a 87-86 road loss against the Worcester Wolves. An unstoppable Anthony Paez led the Wolves with 31 points. Meanwhile, the Rocks defeated the Plymouth Raiders 95-83 at home on Sunday behind 21 points from Rob Yanders. The Wolves also managed to down London Capital 104-115 on the road on Saturday with Paez leading 5 players in double digits with 31 points. In other games, the Leicester Riders edged the Worthing Thunder 93-98, the Lions also bested the Thunder 91-79 while the Cheshire Jets overwhelmed London 110-73 with 34 points from Chez Marks.
