British League, Regular Season, Game 20: February 13-15, 2009
The Everton Tigers keep leading the British Championship standings with a 14-3 record. The Newcastle Eagles are right behind at 14-4 while the Scottish Rocks are third with a 13-6 record. Everton did not find much trouble to down the Worthing Thunder 100-111 on the road on Saturday. Andre Smith paced the winners with 30 points while Olu Babalola added 21 for the Tigers. Newcastle thrashed end-of-the-table London Capital 100-68 at home on Friday, as Andrew Bridge led 5 Eagles in double digits with 18 points. The Rocks registered a 78-87 road loss against the Cheshire Jets. Chez Marks paced the winners with 25 points. It was a bittersweet weekend for the Marshall MK Lions, that downed the Sheffield Sharks 86-79 at home on Friday behind 20 points from Tommie Eddie and then registered a 80-78 road loss against the Worcester Wolves. Anthony Paez led the Wolves with 32 points while Justin Brown added 27. The Leicester Riders downed London 79-99 on the road on Saturday with 29 points from Brad Wierzbicki but then had a 99-89 road loss against the Guildford Heat on Sunday. EJ Harrison had 23 points for the Heat while Keonta Howell added 20. In other games, the Plymouth Raiders beat the Thunder 106-89 behind 20 points from Gerald Robinson.
