Zalgiris Kaunas bounced back to life in the Lithuanian League finals by whipping rival Lietuvos Rytas 110-84 in Game 3 to narrow its deficit in the best-of-seven series to 2-1. Paulius Jankunas scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead Zalgiris to the win after the club lost Game 2 by 42 points. Jonas Maciulis scored 6 points in a 16-3 first-quarter run as the hosts took the lead for good. The lead reached 15 on a Jankunas basket before Chuck Eidson brought L. Rytas within 34-22 after 10 minutes. The lead reached 20 on a Dainius Salenga triple early in the second quarter and the hosts never looked back. Salenga finished with 19 points for the winners, Maciulis and Tadas Klimavicius added 18 each and Mantas Kalnietis recorded 13 points and 8 assists. Eidson paced L. Rytas with 17 points and 9 assists, Milko Bjelica added 16 points, Arturas Jomantas 14 and Justinas Sinica had 11. Game 4 is on Thursday in Vilnius. Meanwhile Neptunas beat Siauliai 90-95 behind 21 points from Martynas Mazeika to close the gap in the third-place series to 2-1.
