Polish League Playoffs, Semifinals, Game 1: April 20, 2009
Defending champion Asseco Prokom Sopot and sixth-seed Energa Czarni Slupsk won the first games in their respective series in the Polish League semifinals, but they had to work hard for the victories. Asseco defeated Anwil Wloclawek 97-91 after it was 41-42 in the guests' favor at halftime. Even though the hosts were in command in the 29-20 third quarter, Anwil never gave up. Qyntel Woods and David Logan both had big games for the champs with 27 points and 9 rebounds, and 23 points and 8 assists, respectively. Daniel Ewing added 12 points for Asseco. Marko Brkic and Andrzej Pluta combined for 42 points for the visitors. Energa Czarni Slupsk trailed 66-52 with 10 minutes to go, but turned the game around with an 18-32 fourth quarter to even the score at 84-84 at the quarter's buzzer. In the overtime, Energa Czarni outlasted the hosts 98-99. Demetric Bennett paced the visitors with 25 points, Chris Booker notched 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Mateo Kedzo produced 18 points and Antonio Burks added 10 points. Bryan Bailey scored 20 points for PGE Turow, Krzysztof Roszyk almost matched him with 19 points, Alex Harris netted 14 points, Tyus Edney added 11 points and John Turek 10 points. Chris Daniels pulled down 14 rebounds for the hosts.
