Serbian Radivoj Korac Cup quarterfinals: February 19, 2009
Novica Velickovic - PartizanSerbian champion Partizan and runner-up Hemofarm Stada became the first two teams to advance to the Serbian Cup semifinals on Thursday. Later they were joined by Crvena Zvezda, who beat Metalac 83-66, and BC FMP, who bested Lions 81-68. Partizan bested Vojvodina Srbijagas 87-58 and Hemofarm topped Borac 80-75. Vojvodina earned a 12-18 lead over Partizan after the first quarter, but the champs ran over Vojvodina 30-14 in the next 10 minutes and then cruised in the second half en route to a blowout win. Forward Novica Velickovic had another strong offensive performance with 17 points for Partizan, Uros Tripkovic netted 13 points, and Stephane Lasme and Zarko Rakocevic registered 10 points each for the winners. Goran Bajic scored 19 points for Vojvodina. Meanwhile, Hemofarm had to work hard to edge Borac 80-75. Stefan Markovic paced the winners with 21 points, Boris Savovic produced 14, Miljan Pavkovic had 13 and Boban Marjanovic 12. For Borac, Ivan Zigeranovic had an outstanding effort with an impressive 29 points.
