Turkish League playoffs, quarterfinals, Game 2: May 17-18, 2009
Reigning champion and Fenerbahce Ulker and regular season champ Efes Pilsen reached the Turkish League semifinals by sweeping their best-of-five semifinals. The two teams needed only two wins to accomplish the feat, since under Turkish League rules, any team that swept its regular season series with a playoff opponent starts the playoff series with a 1-0 edge. Fener bested Antlaya Bsb. 74-92 in Game 2 behind 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists from Mirsad Turkcan. Efes downed Darussafaka Cooper Tires 60-87 in Game 2, taking control for good with an 8-31 third quarter. Charles Smith led the way with 15 points. Mersin BSB kept its hopes alive by beating Turk Telekom 104-103 in an overtime thriller. Lester McCalebb led Mersin with 29 points and 7 assists and Chris Lofton added 26. Galatasaray Café Crown took a 2-0 series lead over Besiktas Cola Turka with an 80-66 win thanks to 20 points and 11 rebounds from Anthony Tolliver.
Fenerbahce Ulker bested Antlaya Bsb. 74-92 in Game 2 behind 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists from Mirsad Turkcan. The visitors led 21-28 after 10 minutes, but Antalya stayed in the game and entered the fourth quarter trailing only 57-64. Devin Smith added 15 points and 9 rebounds and Omer Asik had 11 points for the winners. Marcus Douthit paced Antalya with 23 points and 11 boards.
Efes Pilsen downed Darussafaka Cooper Tires 60-87 in Game 2, taking control for good with an 8-31 third quarter.
