Both defending champion Azovmash Mariupol and runner-up BC Kyiv scored big victories and continue to share the top of the Ukrainian League with perfect 5-0 records. Azovmash beat Sumykhimprom 68-90 with an excellent team effort on the offensive end. Sergei Lischuk led six Azovmash players in double digits with 15 points, while Dijon Thompson, Khalid El-Amin and Tomas Delininkaitis scored 14 points apiece. Thompson and El-Amin controlled the offense with 6 assists each, and big man Tomas Van Den Spiegel had a huge game inside with 12 points and 15 boards. Uche Nsonwu added 11 points for the winners. BC Kyiv didn't allow BC-93 Pulsar more than 15 points in any quarter en route to a 73-53 victory. Manuchar Markoishvili led Kyiv with 18 points, Jovo Stanojevic added 14, Brent Wright chipped in with 13 and Artur Drozdov added 10. In other games, MBC Mykolaiv and BC Poltava got their first victories, as Mykolaiv beat Khimik 97-93 behind 23 points from Oleksandr Rayevskyy, while Poltava picked up an 80-85 road victory against BC Donetsk. Richard Guinn had 22 points to go with 8 rebounds for Poltava.
