Belgian League Quarterfinals, Game 2: May 20, 2010
Bracey Wright - BC OostendeBase BC Oostende and Antwerp Giants swept their respective best-of-three qualifying round playoff series and advanced to the Belgian League semifinals. In an outstanding thriller that went down to the wire, Oostende needed overtime to edge Dexia Mons-Hainaut 77-78 on the road on Thursday. Bracey Wright led the winners with 22 points. Matt Lojeski added 15 for Oostende. Justin Cage led Mons with 22 points. It all came down to the end of regulation, as an outstanding Wright and free throws by Caleb Green allowed Oostende to force overtime, 67-67. Once in the extra period, Lojeski followed a key layup with free throws to seal the outcome in the final seconds, 74-78. The Giants defeated Generali Okapi Aalstar 86-73 in Antwerp also on Thursday. Brandon Gay led the winners with 22 points. Christophe Beghin added 17, Bryan Hopkins had 15 while Tim Black got 14 for Antwerp. Jamar Wilson led Okapi with 17 points. Okapi led 33-39 at halftime but a 13-0 run that Black capped with free throws helped Antwerp to get a double-digit lead, 56-45, late in the third quarter. Nothing changed from that moment, as Antwerp kept a safe lead until the final buzzer.
