Belgian League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 2: May 27, 2010
Jonathan Tabu - Spirou CharleroiSpirou Basket Charleroi downed Base BC Oostende 58-69 on Thursday to book a spot in the Belgian League finals, while the other semifinal series will go to a third – and final – game after Antwerp Giants topped Belgacom Liege Basket 83-76. Jonathan Tabu scored 15 and Jerry Johnson had 14 points and 7 rebounds to lead Spirou to the series sweep. The defending champs simply overpowered Oostende in the fourth quarter, holding the home side to 11 points as they erased a small deficit and marched to the win. Charleroi outrebounded Oostende 22-32 for the game. Courtney Sims added 13 points for the winners. Bracey Wright scored 17 and Caleb Green had 13 for Oostende in defeat. In Antwerp, Brian Hopkins scored 19 and Tim Black had 17 for to lead the Giants. The hosts dominated early and led 47-32 at halftime before Liege made a late comeback. Josh Duncan, Guy Muya and Adrian Banks scored 14 points each for the regular season champs. Game 3 takes place at Liege on Saturday.
