French League, Game 18: February 6, 2010

Le Mans downed Chorale Roanne 73-58 at home on Saturday. Dee Spencer paced the winners with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Marc Salyers added 14 while Maleye Ndoye had 13 for Le Mans, that led 55-51 late in the third quarter. A 10-2 run that Ndoye capped with a triple sealed the outcome, 65-53, as Roanne never recovered. Cholet rallied to edge Vichy 64-63 at home also on Saturday behind 18 points from Sammy Mejia. Cholet trailed 44-54 late in the third quarter but returned to the game. Free throws by John Linehan and Mejia in the final 40 seconds allowed the hosts to escape with a win. In an all-Euroleague showdown, Orleans thrashed Asvel Basket 55-76 to improve to 11-7. Cedrick Banks paced the winners with 25 points on 6-of-11 three-pointers. Mindaugas Lukauskis led Asvel with 16 points. Orleans led 33-42 at halftime and boosted its margin to 41-55 after 30 minutes to seal the outcome long before the final buzzer. Nancy dropped to 11-7 due to a 92-74 road loss against Elan Chalon. Taj Gray paced the winners with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Kaniel Dickens and Ricardo Greer each had 16 points for Nancy. Steed Tchicamboud added 14 while Jeff Greer got 10 for the guests, that led 35-38 at halftime. Chalon rolled after the break and cruised to a well-deserved win. In other games, Gravelines edged Rouen 77-80, Poitiers topped Hyeres-Toulon 77-82, Paris beat Dijon 84-72 while Le Havre downed Strasbourg 83-71 behind 20 points from JJ Miller.
