Qyntel Woods posted 31 points and 11 rebounds to lead Prokom, while David Logan added 16 and was named finals MVP and Adam Lapeta tallied 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Prokom became the first team since 1997 to sweep the finals and the first team since 1988 to go undefeated throughout the Polish League playoffs. Game 4 was the closest of the 10 playoff games in which Prokom was involved, as it was not decided until Lapeta blocked Krzysztof Szubarga’s potential game-winner with 0.5 seconds remaining. Anwil looked poised to force a fifth game when it built a 44-32 halftime lead, however Prokom stormed back in the third quarter and took the lead in the fourth. Woods made it 77-80 with a minute-and-a-half remaining only to see Nikola Jovanovic score quickly. However, after Logan missed a three, Lapeta rejected Jovanovic. Daniel Ewing went to the line with 5 seconds left and a chance to distance Prokom, but missed twice and game Anwil one last chance, but Lapeta was there to preserve the win. Jovanovic paced Anwil with 20 points and 12 rebounds, Rashard Sullivan added 16 points and Andrzej Pluta scored 15 in defeat. MORE

Polish League, Season 2009-10
Just as in recent years, Asseco Prokom Gdynia is the team to beat in the Polish League this season. Prokom will be looking for its seventh straight title, even though the goal seems to be harder every season as the competition gets better and better. Prokom kept its backcourt stars, Daniel Ewing and David Logan, and forward Qyntel Woods and added Jan Jagla and Pape Sow in the middle. PGE Turow Zgorzelec made it to the last three finals and will try to go one step higher this season. Turow landed Michael Wright and Willie Deane as its new superstars with players like Adam Wojcik, Krzysztof Roszyk, Robert Witka and Pawel Leonczyk ready to complement them. Energa Czarni Slupsk, Anwil Wloclawek and SKK Kotwica Kolobrzeg will try to beat the expectations and challenge for a spot in the best-of-seven finals. Anwil counts on Andrzej Pluta, Krzysztof Szubarga and Kevyn Green to lead the team next season. Czarni relies on Ronald Clark and Dru Joyce to take the team back to the semifinals, while Kotwica has a new leader in Omni Smith. Polonia Azbud Warszawa, AZS Koszalin and SKS Polpharma-Pakmet will fight for playoff spots and take it from there, as all the teams battle to have a chance to dethrone Prokom in 2009-10.
