Polish League, Regular Season, Game 8: November 18, 2009
The top three teams in the Polish League enjoyed double digit victories to further separate themselves from the rest of the league in Wednesday's midweek round of games. Defending champion Asseco Prokom Gdynia beat Polonia Azbud Warszawa 91-81 to remain unbeaten through eight games. Prokom took a 49-39 halftime lead and control the pace the rest of the way. Ronnie Burrell led Prokom with 17 points, Qyntel Woods recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, David Logan had 16 points and 6 assists, Dan Ewing tallied 11 points and 9 assists and Junior Harrington scored 10. Brandun Hughes had 21 points and 7 assists in defeat. Second place PGE Turow Zgorzelec topped Polpharma Starogard Gdanski 91-79 as Robert Witka led six Turow scorers in double figures with 20 points. With the win, Turow improved to 6-3. Michael Wrigth added 19 points, Justin Gray 14, Willie Deane 13, Michal Chylinski 12 and Adam Wojcik added 10. Third placed Anwil Wloclawek topped Kotwica Kolobrzeg 91-77 thanks to 25 points from Nikola Jovanovic. In other games, Stal Stalowa Wola defeated AZS Koszalin 84-76 as Marek Miszczuk posted 17 points and 11 rebounds, Trefl Sopot beat PBG Basket Poznan on the road 81-88 behind 20 points from Iwo Kitzinger and Sportino Inowroclaw outlasted Polonia 2011 Warszawa 98-99 as Ted Scott netted 29.
