Another week, another win for defending Turkish League champion Efes Pilsen, which outlasted Banvit 51-57 on the road for its 14th straight league win. Ermal Kuqo recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds and Preston Shumpert scored 11 to lead Efes as it improved to 16-1. In Monday's game, Fenerbahce Ulker remained hot on Efes's heels after trouncing Erdemir 107-82. Roko Ukic led seven Fener scorers in doubles figures with 18 points. Turk Telekom capitalized on Banvit's loss and a defeat to Besiktas ColaTurka to move into a three-way tie for third place at 11-6. Telekom topped Mersin Buyuksehir Bld. 71-87 as Huseyin Besok deposited 25 points and Umit Sonkol registered a double-double. Besiktas fell 96-82 at Antalya. Aaron Lee Jackson paved the way for Antalya with 27 points and 6 assists. Darius Washington and Rado Rancik scored 16 points apiece as Galatasaray Café Crown defeated Kepez Belediye 78-64. In other games, Pinar Karsiyaka bested Oyak Renault 66-62 thanks to 21 points from Ryan Toolson and Tofas edged Bornova Belediye 73-71 as both Brandon Brown and Sean Denison both had double doubles.
Another week, another win for defending Turkish League champion Efes Pilsen, which outlasted Banvit 51-57 on the road for its 14th straight league win. Ermal Kuqo recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds and Preston Shumpert scored 11 to lead Efes as it improved to 16-1. The visitors pulled ahead by holding Banvit to just 8 second-quarter points en route to a 22-30 lead at the break. It reached 11 in the third quarter before Banvit narrowed the gap to 50-44 with three-and-a-half minutes remaining. But an Igor Rakocevic triple secured another Efes win. Baris Ermis led Banvit with 17 points.
Turk Telekom capitalized on Banvit’s loss and a defeat to Besiktas ColaTurka to move into a three-way tie for third place at 11-6. Telekom topped Mersin Buyuksehir Bld. 71-87 as Huseyin Besok deposited 25 points and Umit Sonkol registered a double-double. Telekom dominated early, leading by 13 after 10 minutes and 28-48 by halftime. Sonkol amassed 13 points and 11 rebounds and Tutku Acik dished 7 assists for the winners.
Darius Washington and Rado Rancik scored 16 points apiece as Galatasaray Café Crown defeated Kepez Belediye 78-64. Gala built a 44-31 halftime lead and ended any doubt by dominating the third quarter 25-12 to register the win. Mike Wilkinson added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Evren Buker had 11 points in the win. Jovo Stanojevic paced Kepez with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
In Monday's game, Fenerbahce Ulker remained hot on Efes's heels after trouncing Erdemir 107-82. The hosts outscored Efes by 8, 12 and 11 points in the first three quarters to build an insurmountable lead. Roko Ukic led seven Fener scorers in doubles figures with 18 points, Tarence Kinsey added 16, Lynn Greer 15, Mirsad Turkcan 14, Omer Onan and Oguz Savas 11 apiece and Gordon Giricek 10. Leon Williams paced Erdemir with 17 points and 12 boards.
