Turkish League, Regular Season, Game 29: April 21, 2010
The playoff picture is starting to become clearer after the penultimate games in the Turkish League. On Wednesday, Efes Pilsen, which had already secured first place and homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, romped to a 115-69 victory over Antalya BSB. Igor Rakocevic scored 20 and Preston Shumpert 18 to lead seven Efes scorers in double figures. Sinan Guler tallied 16 points, Bostjan Nachbar 13, Charles Smith 12, Kerem Tunceri 11 and Bootsy Thornton 10 for the winners. Fenerbahce Ulker, which will finish the season second, suffered a 77-71 loss at Bornova Belediye, which sealed a playoff berth with the win. David Smith scored 20 and Josh Shipp had 16 for the winners. Lynn Greer and Emir Preldzic tallied 17 each for FB Ulker. Besiktas ColaTurka and Tuk Telekom, which will meet in the quarterfinals, both won as they try to get fouth place and the homecourt advantage in that series. Besiktas beat Pinar Karsiyaka 93-78 and will clinch fourth with a win or a Telekom loss in the last remaining game. Brad Newley scored 27 and grabbed 8 rebounds to lead Besiktas. Cevher Ozer added 21 points and Engin Atsur scored 13 and dished 6 assists. Turk Telekom topped Tofas 76-67 as Lamayn Wilson recorded 15 points and 9 rebounds and Ersin Dagli added 14 points. Galatasaray Café Crown’s slim playoff chances came to an end with an 83-76 loss to Aliaga Petkim. Lorenzo Gordon and Quinton Hosley led Aliaga with 18 each and Vladan Vukosavljevic posted a monster double-double. Mike Wilkinson scored 21 and Darius Washington had 20 in defeat. In other games, Oyak Renault defeated Banvit 89-82 as Olumuyiwa Famutimi roared with 31 points, Kepez Belediye dropped Erdemit 83-66 thanks to 21 points from Jovo Stanojevic and Mersin Buyuksehir Bld. beat Darussafaka Cooper Tires 88-78.
