ADRIATIC LEAGUE
Adriatic League, Final Four, final: April 21, 2011
Partizan mt:s held on to edge Union Olimpija 74-77 on Thursday at Stozice Arena in Ljubljana to win the Adriatic League for the fifth season in a row. Curtis Jerrells made 5 free throws in the final minute to help Partizan hold off the host club. The point guard paced the winners with 20 points, while James Gist added 12, Dusan Kecman 11 and Nathan Jawai 10. Partizan pieced together a 9-0 run that bridged the second and third quarters to take a 39-48 lead, but Olimpija clawed back to 54-56 on a Samo Udrih triple. Jerrells ended the third quarter with a three-pointer to make it 58-65. After Olimpija closed the gap to 3 points, Kecman hit a three and converted a three-point play to keep Partizan in control. Olimpija never quit and got within 70-72 on 4 straight Saso Ozbolt free throws with under two minutes to go. However with the clock a factor, the game became a free throw contest and Jerrells did not leave any openings and carried Partizan to the title. Vlado Ilievski paced Olimpija with 15 points, Udrih and Goran Jagodnik scored 12 each and Ozbolt had 11 in defeat.

Adriatic League, Season 2010-11
The 2010-11 Adriatic League features some new teams and an attractive, consolidated competition that had one of the most exciting finishes in world basketball history last season. Partizan won the title by edging Cibona 74-75 in overtime on a 16-meter three-pointer by Dusan Kecman - and is the main candidate to win again next season. Jan Vesely, Kecman, Nathan Jawai and Branislav Djekic will try to keep Partizan atop everyone else this season. Teams like Union Olimpija, Cibona, Cedevita, Hemofarm Stada and - for the first time ever - CEZ Nymburk will do their best to try to dethrone Partizan. Cibona has a powerful roster with Mario Delas, Rok Stipcevic, Drago Pasalic or Bojan Bogdanovic. Olimpija has stars like Kenny Gregory, Kevinn Pinkney, Vlado Ilievski and Damir Markota. Cedevita hopes to keep growing with Dontaye Draper, Aaron Pettway, Marino Bazdaric or Vedran Vukusic. Hemofarm features Milan Macvan, Miljan Pavkovic and Milos Borisov. Nymburk has its own superstar in Tre Simmons, as well as other main players like Petr Benda, Weyinmi Efejuku and Mike Lenzly. Zagreb, Buducnost and Zadar will have a critical role in the outcome of the 2010-11 regular season. Zagreb featues Mario Kasun, Alex Renfroe, Luka Zoric and Krunoslav Simon. Buducnost relies on Marko Scekic, Vladimir Dragicevic and Gintaras Kadziulis while Zadar has go-to guys like Marko Car, Jurica Golemac and Jakov Vladovic. Expect a big battle all season long.
