Adriatic League, Regular Season, Game 19: January 28-30, 2011
Only three of the five teams that came into the weekend tied for first place in the Adriatic League, Partizan mt:s, Union Olimpija and Krka Novo Mest, won to remain atop the standings at 12-7. Partizan beat Zagreb CO 69-77 in a matchup of two teams entering the week at 11-7. With the game tied early in the fourth quarter, Partizan reeled off 7 straight points and soon took a double-digit lead on the way to sealing the win. Rasko Katic and Curtis Jerrells scored 14 apiece and James Gist posted 12 points and 10 rebounds for Partizan. Luka Zoric carried Zagreb with 30 points. Olimpija dominated Hemofarm Stada 104-62 as Saso Ozbolt led six Ljubljana scorers in double figures with 16 points. The hosts outscored Hemofarm by 11, 9 and 16 points, respectively, in the first three quarters and outrebounded the opponents 40-20. Goran Jagodnik added 15 points and 7 rebounds, Sasu Salin netted 13, Giorgi Shermadini and Marque Perry added 11 each and Vlado Ilievsko recorded 10 points and 7 assists. Milos Borisov scored 15 for Hemofarm in defeat. Krka edged Crvena Zvezda 77-79 behind 20 points and 6 assists from Dusan Dordevic. Buducnost was the other team to fall from first after losing 80-70 at Igokea. Meanwhile Cedevita moved up to fourth place and remains just one win behind the leaders after beating Siroki TT Kabeli 95-77. Damjan Rudez scored 21 and Dontaye Draper tallied 18 points and 7 assists for the victors. CEZ Nymburk protected its home floor with a 76-69 win over Cibona. Tre Simmons scored 18 and Afik Nissim added 12 for Nymburk. Leon Radosevic paced Cibona with 16. In Friday’s lone game, Radnicki topped Zadar 97-89 as Vladan Vukosavljevic threw down 28 points.
