Vule Avdalovic - Cholet BasketVictories for Cholet Basket and Chorale Roanne kept the two tied atop the French League standings with 9-2 records. Days before its critical Euroleague regular season finale in Istanbul, Cholet topped Strasbourg 88-84 thanks to the trio of Sammy Mejia, DeMarcus Nelson and Vule Avdalovic, who recorded 20 points apiece. Roanne recorded a 74-80 win at Gravelines-Dunkerque led by Philippe Braud’s 20 points in 18 minutes and a 10-point, 11-rebound and 6-assist effort from Uche Nsonwu-Amadi. Another team coming up with a do-or-die test this week, Asvel Basket, showed it is in good form by downing Pau-Lacq-Orthez 95-88 in overtime. Mickael Gelabale scored 21, Matt Walsh had 20 points and 7 assists and Davon Jefferson added a double-double for Asvel. Demetric Bennett led Pau with 20. Le Mans fell short 71-68 at Vichy despite 25 points from Alex Acker. Demetric Nichols scored 17 for the winners. Wins for Nancy and Chalon/Saone saw the duo remain tied for third place. Nancy topped Paris-Levallois 77-70 as Kenny Grant scored 19. Chalon edged Entente Orleanaise 76-77 behind Marquez Haynes’s 18 points. The other Week 11 winners were Poitiers and Hyeres-Toulon.
