Greek League Quarterfinals, Game 1: April 28-30, 2011

Final-Four bound Panathinaikos started the Greek League playoffs two days earlier than the rest by blasting Peristeri 88-60. All 12 Greens played at least 10 minutes and scored. Antonis Fotsis paced the winners with 15 points and Nick Calathes added 13. However two days later when the rest of the teams started their series, Persiteri nearly upset the defending champs. Panathinaikos eventually won 72-74 after overtime. The Greens trailed 70-69 in the extra period before Kosas Tsartsaris scored the go-ahead basket in the 44th minute. More than a minute later, a triple by Dimitris Diamantidis secured the win. Mike Batiste led the Greens with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Tsartsaris added 13. Zoran Vrkic paced the hosts with 20 points. Olympiacos started the quarterfinals in style by routing Kolossos VAP 96-55. The game was close through one quarter, but the Reds outscored their opponents by double figures in each of the remaining three. Zoran Erceg led the way with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Milos Teodosic tallied 10 points and 7 assists for the winners. Paok held on to beat Kavala 65-61 and the only road winner in the first round of playoff games was Maroussi, which bested Aris 72-86 thanks to 20 points from Dalibor Bagaric.
