Israeli League All-Star Game: January 11, 2011
Lior Eliyahu - Maccabi ElectraLior Eliyahu led Team Israel over the foreigners 122-117 in the Israeli League All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Gan Ner. Eliyahu was named MVP after dominating with 27 points and 13 assists. His Maccabi Electra teammate Guy Pnini scored 25 for the winners. The locals held a comfortable lead for much of the night in what was an enjoyable uptempo game with little defense. However the foreigners made a late charge to get within 1 with two minutes remaining. But Eliyahu stepped up with a three-point play and Meir Tapiro helped seal the win from the line. Tapiro and Lior Hakmon of Hapoel Jerusalem added 12 points apiece for the winners. Ramel Bradley of Ashdod led the foreign team with 26 points, Jerusalem's Willie Solomon added 18 and Jason Rich of Jerusalem and Rodney Green of Gilboa/Galil each netted 13. Adrian Banks of Barak Netanya and Maccabi's Jeremy Pargo were co-winners of the slam dunk contest. Jack McClinton of Galil topped Maccabi's David Blu in the final of the three-point shootout.
