Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv leads the Israeli League standings with a 17-1 record. Hapoel Jerusalem and Eshet tours Bnei Hasharon tie for second place each at 11-7. Maccabi Electra downed Maccabi Haifa 86-100 on the road on Sunday. Lior Eliyahu led the winners with 22 points. David Blu added 16, Doron Perkins had 13, Milan Macvan got 12 while Richard Hendrix contributed 10 for Maccabi, that trailed 24-16 after 10 minutes but rallied to get a 12-point lead, 62-74, at the end of the third quarter. Nothing changed since that moment, as Maccabi kept a safe margin all the way until the final buzzer. Hapoel Jerusalem bested Barak Netanya 93-103 on the road also on Sunday, Yuval Naimy paced the winners with 26 points. Sam Clancy added 17, Will Solomon had 16, Jason Rich got 13, Dion Dowell contributed 11 while Yogev Ohavon scored 10 points and dished 11 assists for Hapoel, that led 57-82 after 30 minutes and only allowed Netanya to rally once the outcome was clear. In other games, Hapoel Holon edged Maccabi Rishon Lezion 88-81 while Bnei Hasharon thrashed Eldan Ashkelon 96-75 behind 17 points from Filiberto Rivera. Maccabi Ashdod and Gilboa/Galil face each other tomorrow.
